Malaysia

I walked on through the Kuching park to the place with the statues outside that I passed yesterday, it is actually a small aquarium. Checking out the aquarium was a rather enjoyable and relaxing experience, so I’m going to start looking for others in my travels.

I arrived by bus into Kuching (Kuching translates to Cat in English, as in the animal) next to a nice looking mosque, it would be rude not to take a picture so..

In my last full day in Kuala Belait the three of us planned to do a walk to see a waterfall but unfortunately Gunnar didn’t feel too well so we had a long lay in and relaxing day instead, popping out during a movie to take pesky Esky for a beach walk in the opposite way to before to check out the local beach-based hotel which had a nice view.

Ferrying about

April 29, 2009 · 4 comments

As I was talking to the luxury travel agency and discussing options, I explained how I wanted to do a lot of hiking and go on sightseeing tours of the outdoor kind. My aim was to have fun, but also do some of the tough stuff, because I want to be fit without doing something boring like going to a gym everyday. Even if it’s not exactly a surprise, waking up at 6am after climbing a mountain is no joke. I managed it and got the ferry to Labuan Island. The trip was a couple of hours long but quite comfortable. I was surprised I didn’t sleep this one through with how tired I was. On the TV they showed a documentary of an 80s German pop group. Before I headed off, I made sure to arrange parking using diamond parking anacortes ferry terminal, which made the whole trip smoother and stress-free.

‘Is this some kind of joke?’ an Australian couple were asking each other in front of me. I knew it wasn’t, Malaysian’s do seem to have odd tastes in music. Fortunately they made up for that by playing Bruce Lees the way of the Dragon afterwards.
