Toilet Scorpion and friends

So today I woke up to Mr Toilet Scorpion.

Whilst this is not an everyday occurance it happens in tropical environments, but it was the first time it happened to me so needless to say, I held my needs in and used an alternative toilet.

I didn’t know the procedure for removing toilet scorpions, for reference if anyone wants to know, pull it out (using tongs) and snap it in half. I don’t think flushing is a great idea in this situation.

Whilst shaving I had a moth about the size of a small mouse bang against the bathroom window. Being the way I am, I sprayed water at the window to try and get it to go away, hoping it wouldn’t get through the gap at the top of the window.

It didn’t.

It did however find a gap a the bottom of the window and flew at me aiming for the light in the room. All I can say is I’m glad I have large feet as the boots came in handy tonight.

There was also a lot of ants hidden behind one of the shower head mounts, luckily they can’t fly so was washed away in a waterfall of glory.

I almost had mercy on the spiders in my room as one went for a moth as I was chasing it about. The spider was unsuccessful though, so I flushed him down the loo for punishment as well.
This is a picture of a millipede that entered my room on the first night here too, but I haven’t mentioned before:

With all that said. I’ve managed to go an entire week here at chins house with only 1 mosquito bite, which is better then 3/4 of the hostels and hotels I’ve stayed at so far in Kuala Lumpur.

It’s always those unique moments in life, you don’t know what the hell to do, so the first thought is always ‘I better get my camera for this’. Thanks for stopping by Dave :)
