Island

Ferrying about

April 29, 2009 · 4 comments

As I was talking to the luxury travel agency and discussing options, I explained how I wanted to do a lot of hiking and go on sightseeing tours of the outdoor kind. My aim was to have fun, but also do some of the tough stuff, because I want to be fit without doing something boring like going to a gym everyday. Even if it’s not exactly a surprise, waking up at 6am after climbing a mountain is no joke. I managed it and got the ferry to Labuan Island. The trip was a couple of hours long but quite comfortable. I was surprised I didn’t sleep this one through with how tired I was. On the TV they showed a documentary of an 80s German pop group. Before I headed off, I made sure to arrange parking using diamond parking anacortes ferry terminal, which made the whole trip smoother and stress-free.

‘Is this some kind of joke?’ an Australian couple were asking each other in front of me. I knew it wasn’t, Malaysian’s do seem to have odd tastes in music. Fortunately they made up for that by playing Bruce Lees the way of the Dragon afterwards.

After the last adventure of trying to stay above the water, today I tried to go under.
My first attempt at scuba diving started with a boat trip to Manukan island. Ok, the thing to start with was checking the top 10 scuba fins.

He had a little plan of things to do to celebrate his birthday and my last full day in Sandakan, so we went to see all the things I’ve missed so far. Read the rest! \(^u^)/ →

Turtle Power! (Part 2)

The turtle was swaying her back legs burying where her eggs dropped. We had missed the event! Still it was nice to see the turtle up close, they are bigger then I imagined; on average they are 1M long, and about 95cm in diameter over the shell. The guide said they can weigh between 100 and 200Kg. Read the rest! \(^u^)/ →

Seligan island, which is also known as Turtle Island, it is one of 3 islands in the Sandakan area which are classified as a National Park due to turtle landings.

The reason behind the name is because this seems to be the favourite island for the local turtle population to come and lay eggs. This trip was to see those eggs being laid. Read the rest! \(^u^)/ →
