Are you mad? Why are you going to Europe in December? Friends thought that we were crazy, and to be honest Paris wasn’t the main point of the trip, the point was to spend Christmas with relatives in Ireland. But we got lucky. It snowed. You have may remember the headlines when European (actually Heathrow mainly) airports ground to a halt because of big snow dumps. Well we were in Paris when it started.

Singapore, being centrally located in South East Asia is the ideal mecca to begin your Asian journey from, or even end it in style with amazing memories. Being second only to Monaco with it’s intensely crowded population, it is indeed a vibrant hub of cultures, religions, nationalities and personalities and with the amazing cuisine on offer there really is something here for everyone.

The main types of cuisine that you will find on offer here are Chinese, Indian, Indonesian, Malaysian and Thai meaning that there is a very broad spectrum of delicious foods available to try here, all influenced by some of the worlds most culturally rich countries. 2010 – Sydney, 2011 – Tokyo, 2012 – London. It seems I have developed a habit of welcoming new years in different major cities around the world, this is also something I want to keep up, maybe I can stretch it further and keep to a different continent too, New York 2013 anyone?

To prepare for the big night in my home countries capital, I decided to make a brief to-do list over the new years period. I’ve been to London a few times before and seen most of the big sites, but some are worth revisiting, and some I’ve not seen before. I will also be accompanied by my girlfriend who I will be meeting in London and has never been before, so it’s important to view it from some fresh eyes.

1. Abbey Road – The crossing made famous by The Beatles album named after it, and constantly filled with tourists doing ‘that pose’. It needs to be done really doesn’t it?

From the farthest corners of the Far East, to the depths of Latin America, you’ll find some of the most deliciously delectable dishes just waiting to be consumed all over the world. Check out our list of four of the best cities in the world for food and let your taste buds influence your next vacation destination. You’ll find plenty of options being mentioned here, a nice oyster bar, extra fancy options, and in some cases great regional food as well, so you’ll find something up your alley for sure. Now all you have to do is decide which country you’re craving and arrange currency exchange.

I recommend that you look into Oceanfront hotel booking as a good place to start. If you find yourself a nice hotel, or an Oceanfront Bed And Breakfast perhaps, you’ll be able to enjoy plenty of nice food right there where you will be staying to start your day on a bright note, as one would while on a vacation.

Lyon, France

France and fine food go hand in hand, so choosing which French city to feature in this list wasn’t easy. Yes, Paris has its patisseries and Michelin stars, but Lyon, situated in the Rhone-Alpes region, has its very own rich culinary history that has manifested into some of the finest cuisine in the world. From succulent sausages to brilliant bistros, Lyon has gained a reputation as the food capital of France, and it’s also not short of a Michelin star or two itself.

Holidaying in the US is all about the cities. When we think of America we immediately jump from one iconic image another. The Golden Gate bridge, the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State building, the Whitehouse, or Cesar’s Palace; and that’s just to name a few. Picking the top five of so many great cities is a difficult task, but we’ve had a go, so check it out.
