Why I don’t like Perth

This year the most time I’ve spent in one place is Perth in Western Australia. Whilst I’ve written about the city and things to do here, I’ve not given my opinion on the place, so here it is: It sucks.

Perth is the place to come if you like a quiet life and want to earn some money and do business, it is popular with immigrants for this reason. However whilst it has some qualities to it, it’s not somewhere I’d recommend visiting. Read the rest! \(^u^)/ →

Whilst there are a few ways of making your way across Australia (I’ll detail the rest next week). Often overlooked is the option of renting a car. Whilst renting a car is not usually a cheap option to cross a continent, it is possible in Australia if you know where to go and are flexible with your dates.

Percy Button Statue in Perth

Percy Button Statue in Perth

Perth has a history of street entertainment down Hay Street and Murray Street. Hay Street now has a permanent one in the shape of Percy Button; a statue of the man from the 1920’s to the 1950’s.

His trademark is performing cartwheels for people waiting in line for the cinema to open for a few shillings amongst his other acts. Read the rest! \(^u^)/ →

Toul Sleng Genocide Museum, a former security office and school was used under order of Pol Pot on 17th April 1975, and was designated for use of detention, interrogation, inhumane torture and killing after confessions from detainees were recieved and documented.

I travelled for 7 weeks in Malaysia and 1 week in Singapore; my assistant was this book. With much more colour and Photography than Lonely Planet books the eyewitness travel guides certainly help plan your trip as you can visually see the attractions before you go.
