America

24-hour party people know to go to Miami. By day you’ll be hanging out at beach bars and by night, after a super-glamorous change, you’ll be strutting your stuff up the red carpet of one of the hottest clubs in town. The most ‘colourful’ nightlife is found on South Beach Miami. The hostels in Miami have picked up on the party atmosphere and many have on-site bars, roof terraces and games rooms, making it easy to meet fellow travellers. You can also ensure you have more money for drinks and club entries by getting them free with some hostels and waking up to a delicious free breakfast the next day at others. Here are two great examples:

During my travels, I have only had one day visiting vineyards and wineries. I blogged about it my time in these Australian wineries previously. While I only spent one day visiting them, I visited around 7. This included a chocolate tasting place and a beer brewery too. One great thing about them is they are often closely located, and you get to try awesome new things. I didn’t know I liked Rye Whisky for example, but after trying it at one of them I’m a big fan now.

This is a guest post by Liah S Thorley is a travel writer and novelist from the UK. She has travelled extensively and particularly enjoys history and the arts.

The vastness of Canada is enough to boggle the mind, yet sitting next to its louder neighbour the USA, its quiet natural beauty can sometimes be overshadowed. I’d been studying in the USA and had a couple of spare weeks before going back to university in the UK. My time wouldn’t stretch to see the whole country so I had to be selective. The decision was easy – I was heading out West to British Columbia.

Now anyone who is or has been a student knows how hard it is to make ends meet, so you know what I mean when I say I was on the skimpiest budget I have ever had to make do on. I bought the cheapest flight to Vancouver I could find, threw my clothes in my bag and hopped across the border.

I have recently found out about a new show starting on Discovery Channel called ‘Walking the Amazon’. Basically some guy goes off on an adventure. Fun ensues. Sounds familiar to me and I am looking forward to watching it. Here is a sneak preview I have of it that is well worth a look:
