Hard Rock and Cafés

Another day, another wonder. With a population of 4 million Bangkok is a busy place, the recent protests have hit worldwide headlines, but I’ve come across nothing but a load of ‘BNE was here’ graffiti everywhere. Oh and this police line up, which seemed to be more practise and getting in the way then anything else:

I happened to find the hard rock cafe too, needing some good music I went in at 4:45pm, ordered a drink only to find 5pm was the start of happy hour. It started raining and the staff were entertaining (using a pen to punch and recovering holes through notes, general bar tricks and playing connect 4 with everyone) so I decided to stay.

A few beers later, the rain passed and I found a plaza (Siam Paragon) to eat in, very hot chilli sauce over grilled chicken, a fair bit more expensive then the street food, and not tasting much better. I headed back for an early night. I also noticed a slight lack in temples in this shopping area (MBK shopping mall is a recently renovated place where I spent most of the morning too).

Hi Rob, wow you write reports like hell. It is all the time impressive to see in which time you see all that. I only can say: Slow down and enjoy. Greetings from Sulawesi Island, Gunnar

Hi Gunnar, nice to hear from you again.

I have already given your advice to myself :) and my reports will be more brief from now on, I can’t keep up my current content and speed rate any more!
