Under an hour drive south of Sydney, you’ll find the Royal National Park. Although it was originally called ‘National Park’ and the 2nd national park in the world behind Yellowstone in the USA, it still remains Sydneys little secret, with most tourists limiting their nature sight seeing to the Blue Mountains.
To get the best out of my trip to the Royal National Park, I went with Understand Down Under (UDU) a small tour company which offsets your carbon footprint for the trip and educates about the Australian environment during the trip.

Today’s adventure was a break from driving very far, a place called Eden looked like a good place to stop. With a population of 3,000 there wasn’t much to do or see, there was however a very nice beach.
I don’t think I need to add any more…

Now this is a catch!
We left to make a move towards Sydney to give our last day a short drive and arrived at Batehams Bay. Population 16,000 this place is a bit bigger then Eden and we arrived by a fishing area for the night. Whilst I was completely unsuccessful at fishing, the guys next to me lost a very large creature (almost 2M long) and managed to catch a sting ray and small shark (seen to the right), kudos to them!
