Sydney is a bustling city with plenty of things to do. I lived there for 3 months back in 2010 so got to experience a fair amount of what the city has too offer. Here’s a few ideas from my own experiences.

Sampling Sydney

Sydney is a place that evokes the mind. Ask someone about Sydney and they’ll conjure up the infamous Opera House beneath blue skies and backed by the outstanding harbour Bridge, all brimming with happy, tanned people and more culture and shops than you can shake a stick at. Sounds too good to be true, but Sydney delivers.

Not a typical attraction on peoples to-do list, but if you have a big gig to attend in Sydney the chances are it’s going to be held in the Sydney Olympic Park. The same area the Olympic games were held in 2000.

Australia day

Australia Day 26th February 2010

I wasn’t quite sure what this ‘Australia Day’ was all about. I never heard about it before arriving in Australia and close to the time. January 26th every year is the date. To me it seemed just a day to be patriotic for no particular reason. Being close to Sydney, I went into the city to check what it’s all about.It certainly seemed a festive time.
