It’s been a while since I’ve put a mid-week photo up here, and you’ve probably noticed my new header image since I’ve been in Japan (I tend to change my header to a place that I’m visiting even if it’s not what I’m blogging about). If you’re reading this in an RSS reader then it’s worth popping by to see what a difference it makes. Ironically this has less detail than my header because it’s much smaller. Anyhow here is the full image:
Be sure to visit Anna’s blog running ‘Show me Japan’ photo series who inspired me to put this one up, she can be found at BudgetTrouble.com

Yes, I only had a day so only skimmed the surface and went in the bigger shops. There seems a lot more to be missed by avoiding the backroads (which are just as long as the main strip) of specialist shops. I fear for my bank balance when I next turn up with bundles of Yen :)
Hi!
Ah, the lovely Akiba… It’s been ages since my last visit there. :)
Thanks for the entry for Show Me Japan
I added your link to the appropriate post:

Sure thing Anna, no problem, thanks for the feature ^_^
Thank you for participating in “Show Me Japan”!
Going to Akihabara is extremely dangerous to me. I am not talking about the security of the Capital of Electricity. Rather, it’s dangerous to my wallet/bank account. I don’t remember how many times I have bought gadgets that I was not supposed to do there…
Have a wonderful weekend.

Thanks Yoshi :-D I know what you mean. Akinhabara turns everyone into moths as well, attracted by the lights everywhere.
Been a long time since I visited Japan… would love to get back there!

Hundreds of electronics shops of various sizes can be found around Akihabara Station and along Chuo Dori (Chuo Avenue). They offer everything from the newest computers, cameras, televisions, mobile phones and home appliances to second-hand goods and electronic junk.
Yes, and I think it’s the ‘second hand goods and electronic junk’ which draws me the most *_*
