Stradbroke Island

This is a guest post from straddie.info, check out their website if you’re interested in visiting Stradbroke Island.

Stradbroke Island is one of Queensland’s gems. This is the real, original Queensland island, designed to include as many luxuries and as much comfort and fun as possible. It’s just across the water from Brisbane, surrounded by fabulous waters and mysterious places to explore, great food, luxury accommodation, beautiful beaches and fabulous bush.

If you’ve never been on a Queensland island before, you’ve been seriously deprived. If you have been to a Queensland island before, you’ll have been seriously wondering why you ever left. Stradbroke is the epitome of everything that’s great about the islands.

If you’re out of practice at relaxation, a week at Stradbroke will convince you that you need a few months at Stradbroke, or maybe several years. This is the logic of a Queensland island- “When you’re on a good thing, just don’t leave.”
Stradbroke is the original boomerang holiday; people keep coming back, for decades.

The first thing you’ll notice about Stradbroke is that the best photographers in the world can’t quite do it justice. The waters are even bluer, and the place is even more beautiful. The sea is fabulous, and the sky is fantastic. Even the food is dazzling. This is typical of Queensland at its best, and it’s a truly Australian mix of beach, bush, and fun, the way everybody likes them.

Your own personal Stradbroke Island

Stradbroke is one of Australia’s most famous holiday destinations for Australians with good reason. The island knows how to give people a real holiday. You do exactly what you want to do, when you want to do it. The true blue Aussie holiday isn’t some sort of time management spreadsheet, it’s an actual holiday. The result of this situation is that everybody creates their own island experience, and nobody would want it any other way.

Everyone has their own preferences on Stradbroke:

On the water: The boating people clock up more sea time than Captain Cook in the waters around Stradbroke. It’s a sailor’s paradise. This is very good beginner sea experience, and good, interesting sailing for the expert sailors. North Stradbroke Island, South Stradbroke, and the surrounds are fascinating places to sail or take a tour.

The bush and beaches: For the explorers, Stradbroke is like a new world, or several. Queensland island beaches are all very individual, and they’re almost impossible to resist if you have the beachcomber/ bush walker instincts. The islanders have kept these areas in excellent condition, and if you’ve got a four wheel drive, you can really see a lot of incredibly beautiful places in style.

Scuba diving: Scuba diving is extremely popular around Stradbroke, and if the divers haven’t grown gills yet, it’s definitely not for lack of trying. Divers around the islands spend more time in the water than out of it. These waters are another paradise, a huge Aladdin’s cave of experiences. There are many internationally famous diving sites around the islands, and this is another holiday sport which is good for both beginners and experts.

Your own personal Stradbroke is a mix of all the things you like, the way you like them. Come up and see how many ways you can find to enjoy yourself.
