Day 50

Today is my 50th day on the road, yes I have been keeping count. And no there is no particular reason why. After getting a bit fed up with chicken based meals I opted for simple cereal, fruit and the closest thing to milk I could get for today.

I moved to a new hostel and was a bit dissapointed with the place. Sweating and with a broken air con unit, it was gaffa tape to the rescue again (the flap the cold air comes out of wasn’t opening) and pressing away mindlessly at the buttons on the remote that had worn out the labels in what each one did.

I went out with a couple of other travellers in my dorm from Australia and the Netherlands who had just come back from staying at an Iban Longhouse, a unique experience but didn’t seem worth the effort to me, maybe I’ll do it some other time.

We went out for a coffee and walked down the water front to look at some boats. Catching the sunset whilst there as well.

The Green boats were all owned by the same company, one side of the port is using for catching shrimp in nets whilst the other is fishing rods based. About 2/3 of them were regular fishing boats (one with ferns growing out the side of the hull) and the other 1/3 for shrimp fishing.

If in doubt gaffer tape it up! I am in Chicago now bro, literally just organised it yesterday! Meeting a couple girls from Toronto that live here later and they are showing me the sights! :D

Exactly! Its the most versatile tool I have I think.
Look forward to the update on Chicago, if you go see the Bulls play I’d be jealous.

Is that…strawberry flavoured milk?

Yes.

Yes it is.

Strawberry flavoured milk – I did say it was the closest thing I could get to normal milk!
