Northern Thailand is a complete contrast of the south which is known for it’s islands and beaches: the north is where you go for the jungle and trekking. This also means encounters with wild animals, one of the more well known in Thailand is the elephant, meaning opportunities to get on board and ride one through the Jungle.

Fort Margherita is across the Kuching river further up from the Astana, I got a boat today across the river to have a look.

I crossed the river to see the Astana in Kuching. Little did I know this isn’t actually a tourist attraction as it is only open once a year to the public.

The crocodile adventure park in Sandakan is cheap to get in and basic inside, it consists of different types of crocodiles in enclosures along with a few other token animals and fishes.
