Gorgeous pics Rob! I just love that giraffe one – turtle is excellent too, what a great trip to the zoo if you could get that close them…or do you have a really good lens? :-)

Thanks very much Shannon :-)
Some of them were close (like the tortoise) but the rest I have to give credit to my lens, which totally paid itself off for this trip to the zoo.
I have 3 photo essays from Adelaide zoo coming up, this week is my ‘stylish’ series, next week will be sleeping animals.
Great pix. That snake…
Nice photos Rob. With a nice camera and lens you should get out into the Australian wild and shoot some animals in their natural habitats! Kangaroos maybe?!?
Thanks Sophie – what of the snake? :-)
Thanks Dona, animals in wild seem to populate certain areas, if I knew a few I’d be up for shooting some. Later on in the trip I found an island with kangaroos and koala bears on (where my header photo was taken), so there is a few wild photos there :-D
I love the pics! The giraffe is my favorite, I love the way it’s body contrasts against the light background. ;)
Sweeeet pics Rob!
Thanks Ladies :-)
My admiration for your work is beautiful because it requires precision and patience to take the best pose of the animal.

Thanks very much I appreciate the compliment :-)
I love the orangutan in particular – that sheen on his coat is beautiful.

Where’s the dingo?
.-= Amiee´s last blog – On Wisconsin: A Photo Essay =-.
Richard – the orangutan was indeed very healthy, was doing laps around his large area, so luckily came in view every so often.
Amiee – I’m afraid I don’t have a photo of one :( Not even coming up in the next few weeks.
Nice job on the zoo photos. They do give a great chance to photograph these magnificent animals even if the surroundings aren’t authentic.

Great Photo Essay Rob. The giraffe’s head capture is excellent and so as the healthy orangutan.
cool photos
