After a good few days in Melbourne, which I really enjoyed, it’s by far my favourite city in Australia so far (and I suspect will remain that way) and catching the movie ‘Avatar’ in 3D at IMAX (Melbourne has the 3rd worlds biggest flat screen there) we headed off to our final destination: Sydney.

IMAX in Melbourne
One thing I noticed about Victoria state compared to others is the police are much more active, I even got stopped for a breathe test on route (everyone did down a certain road).

The next thing I noticed was the roads just aren’t as good. A lot of patching up and pot holes causing a bumpy ride in places, South Australia and Western Australia definitely has higher quality when you get out the cities. Despite a higher number of road trains (I’ve only seen one in Victoria)
Stopped overnight at Bairnsdale where after making ‘adventurerob style’ pizza on one of the many free electric BBQs around Australia, we was joined by a German couple and watched a movie on my laptop together before calling it a night.

Did you find the free internet in Federation Square?! Makes a lovely change from Maccy D’s!
Yeah I loved Melbourne, my favourite Australia city for sure.
Katie – No I didn’t :-( But I wasn’t really looking. I got some random free internet in Sydney though in the middle of the city.
